Holiday Fun at Target

What a fluffy little cloud. I'm in Vallejo today, on my way to Marine World Six Flags Discovery Kingdom for my annual company picnic. Seems like an odd destination for a company picnic, if you ask me. I mean, it's cool for people who have kids and/or enjoy going on the rides, but for me, since I don't fit in either category...I could take or leave coming here. Oh well!

I'm on San Mateo Ave. "The Avenue" in San Bruno. This was taken outside of a hair salon for kids. Is the guy in the left picture creepy-looking? I say yes, but you be the judge. I'm really here to go to the Scrapbook Nook, which will certainly put a dent in my pocketbook. ...Do people say "pocketbook" anymore?

Yeesh. This wind is a bit much. I'm at the San Mateo Caltrain station, on my way to San Jose. The train's due any minute now...hope it gets here soon.

Well, THIS is just great.
Not the game going into extras, that's fine. But as you can see, the gnats have decided to make an appearance.
This is crazy. I don't think I've ever seen this many of them here like this, but it's also usually not this warm this late.

So today was the office holiday lunch party. Which, naturally, involved drinking. After that was over (around 3pm), I went with a few other people to a nearby bar, where I took the picture you see here. ...I drank way too much today. Right now I'm taking the train home. I would say I'm going to sleep as soon as I get there, but unfortunately that isn't how I work. I'm sure I'll be up after 1am. Bleh.

I'm on my way to the baseball game. I've been to three games in the past month, but before that I haven't been here for at least a couple of years. Anyway, go Giants!

How cute is this? I want to take it and stick it in my pocket, that's how small it is.

This cart rack thingie is oh so very old, and the stores that still use carts are on the opposite side of the mall from this spot. I first noticed the empty, abandoned rack when I arrived, unsure as to why it was still there. Imagine my surprise when, on my way out, I saw that someone had tried to park a cart in it. I say tried because carts have gotten bigger since back in the day when this rack was built, so whoever did this really jammed that cart in there to the point where it was stuck.
I wonder if it'll still be there the next time I go to Serramonte.

Tonight I'm at a birthday party at the American Legion Building (er, American Legion Hall?) in my hometown. I did not know that this building even existed until recently, but that's beside the point. The women's bathroom is an interesting sight--a giant hat with flowers and a bow hung on the wall, a ground-level mirror leaning against the wall right in front of the toilet--but this is the thing that got me. "WOMEN". The sign for the men's room didn't have quotation marks. Hm...

Sign at Little Caesar's. We were there picking up a bunch of $5 pizzas (which totally taste like $5 pizza, but we have a bunch of teenagers coming over tonight, so...). There was this one lady a couple of people ahead of us in line who grabbed all of the napkins on the front counter, asked the girl ringing her up if they had any more, and when the girl reloaded the box with napkins, she took all of those too. To top it off, she didn't leave a tip. What a loser. There was a really good chance she was the one with the crappy park job too, though I'm not one to talk about park jobs. Or driving, even.

View from I-280 South this morning. I didn't have my real camera on hand, but I had my phone, so...there you go. This image is now my phone background.

Remember that song?
Ain't nothin' gonna break my stride
Nobody gonna slow me down
Oh no, I got to keep on movin'

Taylor Middle School, Millbrae. I've never been quite sure why this word was here, but my father told me that he always figured it was there to alert people not to run. Since this precedes a steep decline, it makes sense.

Define "pocket pet".
I've been going to this shopping center for a few months now and I JUST noticed this door.

Hi. I'm in Watsonville today. Does anyone know how to pronounce this name?

I took this picture simply because I noticed two missing letters. Upon looking at it again, I just found a third--can you find them all? :D What really gets me is on the bottom line, they could have just put "Mar" and not bothered with the H...oh well.

So I'm on break, taking a walk down the hill to the area with a bunch of abandoned buildings. Here's one of those buildings. I don't know if that's a broken pipe or what, but that can't be good. Here's the thing: Should I report it, and if so, to whom?

This morning--strike that, yesterday morning--I thought the frost pattern on the back of this car looked pretty. I might mess around with it and turn it into some kind of crazy wallpaper when I feel I have the time.

I wonder why these were left here?

Later, at the grocery store. Poor Rachael. :P

I walked by that earlier...no idea how long it had been there, but that doesn't matter. The fact that it was just sitting there out in the open like that can't be good, right?

I spent a good part of today at this courthouse. A fair number of the people there looked/seemed/sounded rather annoyed, but I didn't mind, even though it turned out that they didn't need any of us.

One thing I love doing is looking at clouds. However, I don't really know too much about them technically...I just like looking. Perhaps I should learn about them so that I know more about what I'm looking at...

New paint has been popping up on some of the intersections in San Bruno. (This picture was taken near San Bruno Park last weekend.) The first one I noticed was in my neighborhood the day I left for Sausalito. Has this been going on anywhere else, or is this just something my city decided to do?

I'm here, kids! The view is lovely, but other than that I'm not sure what I think of the place just yet.

Golden poppies often grow by the train tracks here. The unusual thing is that I've never seen ones like these, all yellow at the edges. I don't know if that means they're young or they're different or what...they're pretty, though.

When I left the house last Wednesday, this vision greeted me. I was amused at how it just stayed on the back of the van like that.

This is a building close to where I work; I pass by it a lot, and I'd been wanting to take a picture of it for the longest time. So one day a few months back, I managed to be walking by it without carrying heavy bags and with my camera in possession. I finally had my picture. I wonder how that name's supposed to be pronounced?

I saw this today on the path next to the railroad tracks. I don't know exactly what it was--maybe something about how it was positioned just so, or the fork sitting inside--that made me want to take this picture. I was on my way to get an egg salad sandwich, but after seeing that...I lost my appetite for a little while.
