Half-Assed Pysanky Drawing

I illustrated some of my file folders at work in hopes that it would add at least a bit of sunshine to my dull, dull days. I recently saw someone selling pysanky at one of the local farmers' markets, which inspired this number.

Meeting Notes

I'm horrible at meetings. (More on that here.) I was going through my notebook and came across this sketch. Dunno who I was thinking about there. I mean, that's supposed to be me there with a scarf, but that heart? This was not recent. Looking at the stuff I wrote around it, I'm guessing this is from May 2005. So yeah, not recent at all.

Old Drawing Revisited

Go ahead, click on it!

So...I think maybe I should get into drawing again. You'll notice, if you look at my profile now, that the image is a (quickly, poorly done) self-portrait. I rarely wear novelty t-shirts, but I seem to like using them when I draw myself, maybe to say, "This is how I feel right now." [edit: my profile image has since changed] Anyway, I drew the above self-portrait over a year ago. It links to a comic I made. It's mostly stick figures because it's really hard for me to draw guys, they either turn out too feminine or just wrong somehow. The other character in the comic refers to someone that I know. I tried drawing him once. Said drawing made him look like Monchichi...so I switched to stick figures.

I feel like sharing this.

'Inori' means 'prayer', by the way.

I didn't take this picture with my phone, but I figured this was the best place for it. I drew it yesterday afternoon for a card that I gave to a friend shortly after its completion. It's ripped off from heavily inspired by Yoshitaka Amano's "Kingyohime" series...drawn on card stock, colored in with a Sharpie. I'm pleased with it. The complete card ended up looking like a third-grade art project (lamest mount job ever, I had to use tape), but oh well. I'm drained now...I feel like I put way too much effort into the things I did earlier this week, including the card, but the effort came without thinking. I know why it did, too, and I'm kind of scared. Okay, I'm overthinking things at the moment. Forgive me. Enjoy the illustration.

Scarlet Letter of a different sort

Last night I was channel-surfing and I watched the silent version of "The Scarlet Letter" for a couple of minutes. It somehow inspired me to create this rough sketch...which is as far as most of my drawings get these days. I'm not quite sure how to draw the bonnet. Bleh.
