Creepy?
I'm on San Mateo Ave. "The Avenue" in San Bruno. This was taken outside of a hair salon for kids. Is the guy in the left picture creepy-looking? I say yes, but you be the judge. I'm really here to go to the Scrapbook Nook, which will certainly put a dent in my pocketbook. ...Do people say "pocketbook" anymore?

Employee Appreciation Week
It's Employee Appreciation Week at work. This was also the week I wanted to stop eating crap, but since the week mostly involves "rewarding" the employees with a lot of crap (bagels, etc.), I feel it would be rude of me if I did not partake. I'll be good about it, though. Anyway, on Monday everyone got a single long-stemmed rose with nowhere to put it unless someone already had a vase. So I cut off a good chunk of the stem and placed it in a styrofoam cup, as you can see here. I took a picture of it today because this is the prettiest it's going to be.

State of the Sharks
I came to San Jose to attend this. I've never been, so I figured it would be interesting to go once, anyway. Look, free chips. :P

A Little Windy
Yeesh. This wind is a bit much. I'm at the San Mateo Caltrain station, on my way to San Jose. The train's due any minute now...hope it gets here soon.

Extra Innings
Well, THIS is just great.
Not the game going into extras, that's fine. But as you can see, the gnats have decided to make an appearance.
This is crazy. I don't think I've ever seen this many of them here like this, but it's also usually not this warm this late.

Softball
I'm in Redwood City watching a CCS softball playoff game. The team my dad coaches normally makes this tournament. They did this year, but their game is down in Salinas. Since I can't make it down there, I'm here watching some other teams. I like watching fastpitch, so...yeah. This is a good game, too, it's a low-scoring affair. And it's HOT out here, which is actually kind of nice.
On the way here, I passed by Woodside HS and they had this giant banner up in memory of Anthony Giraudo. My heart sank a bit when I saw that.

Last Night on Sportscenter
I rarely watch ESPN these days. This was a conscious decision I made after I felt they were airing the Richard Zednik injury footage way too much. (I attempted a similar boycott after seeing too much of the Todd Bertuzzi incident in 2004--as some of you know, I was in attendance that night and seriously didn't feel like reliving it. However, because everyone and their mother-in-law felt the need to add their opinions on it, the boycott quickly spread from just ESPN to all of TV...so it didn't last very long.)
Sorry, got off track there for a bit. Anyway, yesterday I heard that Don Cherry would be on Sportscenter, so I tuned in. Is this not a lovely number he's wearing? I also enjoyed seeing Buccigross kind of matching here--it's like Cherry is haute couture and Buccigross is the pret-a-porter version.
...I find myself missing Project Runway all of a sudden.

Stars-Sharks Game 5
End of regulation, tied at 2. AAAAAAHHHHHHHH
[edit: Here is a better picture of the scoreboard. The Sharks ended up winning the game 1:05 into overtime. Needless to say, I am over the moon.]
